CRAIGIE KNOWE
Tasmanian family owned vineyard and cellar door operated and managed by father and son Glenn & Alex Travers.

Craigie Knowe is the oldest vineyard on the East Coast of Tasmania. Our first vines were planted in 1979, by then Hobart dentist John Austwick. He was such a pioneer of the time, with many local farmers thinking he was crazy, but they quickly realised John was onto something and planted their own vines.

The family philosophy is to grow exceptional fruit so the winemaker can weave his magic with minimal intervention.

Craigie Knowe do this by being meticulous in the vineyard, following the advice of their viticulturist and Alex and learning as much as they can… the little things really do make a difference.  The 5 hectare working vineyard produces exceptional and award winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and other varieties.

Handpicked Wines
Our wines proudly represent a mosaic of the most reputed grapegrowing regions. They not only reflect our search for exceptional quality, but also the practices that bring out the best in each vineyard while expressing our genuine commitment to sustainability and respect for the land.

Our devotion to and love for the land grew stronger vintage after vintage, ultimately becoming the proud custodians of our flagship vineyard in the Mornington Peninsula. Appropriately named after one of the brightest stars in the night sky – Capella – its dazzling beauty proved to be the ideal site to establish a winery, where some of our most iconic wines are produced.

Now after a decade lived amongst the vines, we have not looked back since, and today we are proud of having acquired other significant sites in the Yarra Valley, Barossa Valley and most recently Tasmania, which have allowed us to showcase the diverse regionality that exists in Australia, and earn a reputation as a top Pinot Noir producer along the way.

Our organic certifications are a testament to our passion for sustainable winemaking, minimal intervention, and respect for the land.

Hoddles Creek Estate
Hoddles Creek Estate was established in 1997 when the D'Anna family decided to establish a vineyard on the property that has been in the family since 1960. The vineyard sits astride Gembrook road and adjacent Hoddles Creek. Its steeply sloping blocks prohibit mechanical harvesting, with both vineyards being hand pruned and harvested.

All our wines, which are single vineyard, estate grown, are made in our 300 tonne winery, constructed for the 2003 vintage. The split-level winery has a barrel store located three meters underground. Hoddles Creek Estate is planted with 10ha of pinot noir (five clones), 6 ha of chardonnay, 1ha each of sauvignon blanc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon, and 1.5ha of pinot gris.

Ihana
Ihana - Finnish for wonderful or fantastic - a word Valtteri reserves for the truly exceptional. The collaboration of Valtteri Bottas x Oliver’s Taranga is just that - a celebration of competitive craftsmanship.

The stubborn pursuit of excellence is a common thread for Valtteri Bottas and sixth generation grape grower Corrina Wright. And a wine made by two such driven perfectionists was only ever going to be ‘Ihana’, the very word uttered on Valtteri’s first taste.

Finding a second home in South Australia, Valtteri’s love for exploring our landscapes and wine regions has led to an inevitable conclusion; the wines of these rolling McLaren Vale vineyards are amongst the very best in the world.
